Lot of country in the country

22 July 2013

I am still to this day rendered speachless by the stunning scenery when out in about in our beautiful country.

I took this shot below on the main highway south from Blenheim heading to Kaikoura.

I have been fortuante to travel extensively around the globe, but our New Zealand is still absolutely stunning....

Any thoughts on this, please share.

Nice photos Fent, stunning part of the country at this time of year

Totally agree, was back down there for the day today, another great day and quite mild to...

We dont get the postcard perfect snow capped mountains up north of auckland but being in a long low valley surround with forestry on a frozen winters morning is also magic - with the green tips peaking out above the sunkissed morning mist revealing a blanket of white out frost I wish I could call snow.

Maree, totaly agree there... Whilst it is different up North to the South Island, I have been exposed to some amazing views up North also...

I can remember clearly growing potatoes north of Kaitaia just off of 90 Mile Beach, where we used to drive through the forest to enter the block, on the odd very crisp morning, the views of trees and low hanging foggy mist were stunning...

Key point for me is we are blessed in NZ with sensational sites and views up and down the country...

Moving electric fences yesterday evening in the Manawatu near Feilding, stunning looking at the snow capped Ruahines with the sun on them.  Surely the pleasure of being out in our landscape is a large part of what attracts us to the primary industries.

      Couldn't agree more.

Flew from Napier to Christchurch yesterday morning, the ranges looked magic as we tracked down the East Coast. Could well be that I am biased, growing up int he Hawkes Bay :)

But stunning all the same, and agree it is a large part of the attraction to the primary industry. Love it

My most spectacular flights have been from Wellington south on a clear day following heavy snowfall - all the land was covered in snow from the Kaikoura Ranges to the coast.

Andrew, it always amazes me when there is snow at sea level. It always looks amazing.

Got what I think are great shots driving the highway from Blenheim when the waves are crashing in with snow capped mountains behind...

My daughter far preferred the seals though :)

I have just returned from a week touring around in Victoria Australia I saw a lot of very poor pastures and flat very uninteresting countryside although some parts were kind of pleasant and picturesque, Ill take New Zealand any day

Melinda,  totally agree, yes there are some very scenic areas, but I will for sure choose NZ any day.
