General Instructions

General Information

ZAMPRO is an Oomycete fungicide, which has protectant and anti-sporulant activity against late blight on potatoes. It contains two active ingredients, ametoctradin, a triazolo-pyrimidylamine (QxI) fungicide, and dimethomorph, a carboxylic acid amine (CAA) fungicide. Preventive applications optimize disease control. To maximize disease control, apply ZAMPRO in a regularly scheduled protective spray program and use in a rotation program with other fungicides.

Mode of Action

ZAMPRO contains two active ingredients, ametoctradin and dimethomorph. Ametoctradin is a strong inhibitor of mitochondrial respiration in complex III (cytochrome bc1) of Oomycetes fungi. The exact binding site is not yet known. Dimethomorph inhibits cell wall synthesis of Oomycetes fungi.

It is an offence to use this product on animals.

Direction for Use

The rates recommended are for high volume spraying to the point of run off. For concentrate spraying adjust dilution rate accordingly. Do NOT apply in less than 200 litres of water per hectare.

Resistance Management

ZAMPRO contains ametoctradin, a triazolo-pyrimidylamine fungicide from the QxI (Quinone binding site unknown) MODE OF ACTION group Group 45 Fungicide, and dimethomorph, a cinnamic acid amide fungicide from the Carboxylic Acid Amides (CAA) MODE OF ACTION group Group 40 Fungicide. Resistance to this fungicide could develop from excessive use. To minimise this risk use strictly in accordance with the label instructions and resistance management strategies that exist for any fungus listed on the label. ZAMPRO should be used in a programme that incorporates fungicides with different modes of action to QxI and CAA fungicides. To maintain the performance of ZAMPRO in the field, Do NOT exceed the total number of applications of ZAMPRO per season or the total number of consecutive applications stated in the Directions for Use. Refer to the NZCPR web site for more detailed information (www.nzpps.org/resistance/index.php).

Compatibility

ZAMPRO can be mixed with most commonly used fungicides and insecticides.

Mixing

Ensure that spray equipment is properly calibrated. Complete spray coverage is essential for consistent disease control with any fungicide. Forward speeds should be sufficiently slow to ensure thorough spray coverage of the crop being treated.

Application

Ensure that spray equipment is properly calibrated. Complete spray coverage is essential for consistent disease control with any fungicide. Forward speeds should be sufficiently slow to ensure thorough spray coverage of the crop being treated.

Rainfastness

ZAMPRO is rainfast in 1 hour, providing application has been made to dry foliage and the spray has dried on the leaf.

Transport

Do NOT carry this product on a passenger service vehicle.

Spillage

Prevent further spillage and product from entering waterways. Dike and contain the spill with inert material (sand, earth, etc.) and transfer liquid and solid diking material to separate containers labeled for disposal. Wash affected area (hard surface) with water and detergent. Absorb and collect washings and place in the same sealable container as the spilled material. Dispose of the waste safely in suitable landfill. Remove contaminated clothing and wash affected skin areas with soap and water. Wash clothing before reuse.

Use

Apply with well-maintained and accurately calibrated equipment. DO NOT spray directly onto or into water. DO NOT allow spray drift outside the target area. Clean out application equipment thoroughly after use. Dispose of equipment wash waters on suitable ground away from surface water and crops. DO NOT contaminate surface or ground water by cleaning of equipment or disposing of equipment wash waters or rinsate.

Re-entry Period

DO NOT allow entry into treated areas during the restricted-entry interval (REI) of 24 hours. When prior entry is necessary for work, wear protective clothing as indicated above.

Note

Storage, application and record keeping must be as described in the current version of the New Zealand Standard for the Management of Agrichemicals NZS8409.
