Warning

Spillage
Wear overalls and gloves. Prevent further spillage and product from entering waterways. If possible salvage uncontaminated product. Wipe up spilled material and place in sealable container labelled for disposal. Wash down affected area with water and detergent. Absorb and collect washings and place in same sealable container. Dispose of the waste safely at an approved landfill.
Application
Apply with well-maintained and accurately calibrated equipment.
Note
Storage and use must be as described in the current version of the New Zealand Standard for the Management of Agrichemicals NZS8409.
First Aid
If swallowed, do NOT induce vomiting. For advice contact the National Poisons Centre 0800 POISONS (0800 764 766) or a doctor immediately. If skin or hair contact occurs, remove contaminated clothing and flush skin and hair with running water. Do not scrub the skin.
General Information
GOLIATH COCKROACH GEL is recommended as a bait for the control of both immature and adult stages of German and American cockroaches. It may be used in residential dwellings, public buildings such as hospitals, prisons, theatres, hotels, etc, industrial and commercial buildings such as factories, shops, restaurants, bakeries, etc and most other places where cockroaches occur. Not to be used on surfaces used for the preparation of food.
GOLIATH COCKROACH GEL is most eff ective when placed in or close to places infested with cockroaches or where they search for food. These places are generally warm, dark, still and humid - for example behind refrigerators or in other electrical appliances. Best results will be obtained if the surfaces to be treated are cleaned before treatment and other food sources removed.
GOLIATH COCKROACH GEL cartridges are designed to be used with a bait gun dispenser. Place the GOLIATH COCKROACH GEL cartridge in the bait gun dispenser and follow the manufacturers instructions for use.
Direction for Use
Note:
- Observe safety precautions when handling and disposing of empty cartridges.
- Do NOT attempt to open or refi ll cartridges.
- Do NOT place the Gel in any situation where food or water supplies could be contaminated.
- Do NOT apply in situations accessible to children and domestic animals.
- Do NOT use GOLIATH COCKROACH GEL outdoors.
Apply GOLIATH COCKROACH GEL in infested areas in small drops, 3-4 mm in diameter. These Gel droplets should be applied in cracks and crevices, behind shelves and cupboards, under and around ovens, electric appliances and pipe and cable installations. To apply the gel, touch the nozzle tip to the surface and depress the plunger lightly until the required amount is applied.
Normal care is required when treating electrical appliances. Avoid contact with porous surfaces as the bait may stain. Do not apply GOLIATH COCKROACH GEL where it is liable to be wetted or removed by cleaning operations. Do not apply other insecticides over or around GOLIATH COCKROACH GEL, nor apply the gel to already treated areas as the attractiveness of the Gel may be aff ected. If GOLIATH COCKROACH GEL is applied to areas that were not intended to be treated, it may be removed with a damp paper towel and disposed of.
Cockroaches begin to die some hours after consuming GOLIATH COCKROACH GEL and dead cockroaches will usually be found in infested areas some 24 hrs after treatment. Treated areas should be re-inspected after 1-2 weeks: in the case of heavy infestations a second application should be made if all the baits have been eaten but cockroaches are still present.
Supplementary Use Recommendations
Apply product only to areas of likely cockroach activity such as cracks, crevices and narrow sheltered places. These are often located in corners, joints or underneath/behind furniture and appliances. Avoid application to exposed surfaces or areas that are routinely washed or cleaned. Common treatment areas are given below:
- Cupboards, shelving - Cracks and crevices, in corners
- Benches - Cracks and crevices, underneath
- Tables - Underneath, in corners
- Kitchen sink, Laundry sink Under sink around plumbing and joins
- Refrigerators - Underneath, behind and at sides
- Domestic and commercial stoves - Underneath, behind and at sides - NOT INSIDE
- Heaters, appliances - Underneath, behind and at sides
- Plumbing Joins, inlet/outlet points
- Wiring, light fittings - Behind wiring, around ceiling joints
- Door, window frames - Along edges, in corners
- Furniture - Underneath or behind
- Walls, floors, ceilings - Along edges, in corners
- Electrical boxes - Cracks and crevices
Numbers of drops required depends on infestation levels and species of cockroach, but generally 1-3 spots per square metre or linear metre is suffi cient, depending on location.
Safety Directions
Keep out of reach of children. Store cartridges of GOLIATH COCKROACH GEL in their original carton and do not expose to extremes of temperature. Store away from foodstuffs.
Storage
When applying wear waterproof gloves. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Do NOT eat, drink or smoke while using this product. Wash hands and exposed skin thoroughly with soap and water before meals and after work.
Disposal
Container: Ensure cartridge is completely empty, then crush and bury in a suitable landfill.
Product: Dispose of this product only by using according to the label, or at an approved landfill, or other approved facility. Do NOT contaminate any water supply with product or used cartridge.
